Welcome to more previews for the Darkness and Light Arc for Vs. System 2PCG! This Arc features various forms of Darkness and Light throughout the Marvel Universe. The first 55-card Issue focused on one of the darkest teams in Marvel’s history: The Masters of Evil! This second 55-card Issue highlights the masters of the Mystic Arts!
Shall we dive right in to the dark end?
Spellcaster is a new type of power starting here in the Mystic Arts Issue. There are , , and Spellcasters in the set, as well as Spellcasters like Dormammu here. There are also Spells of all these power symbols, which are a special type of Plot Twist.
You play Spells from your hand just like any other Plot Twist. But to cast a Spell, you must have a Spellcaster of that type on your side to pay the matching power symbol. They can do this either by turning a location with that symbol in their resource row face down, or by discarding a location with that symbol, just as if it was a Super Power.
Note: For Spells playable in Combat (like Weaken above), the Spellcaster who casts it does not have to be in the combat.
Now let’s see what the Ruler of the Dark Dimension gets up to when he Levels Up!
That’s not ideal for someone. But is there another Spell we can look at? Those seem fun!
Hmm, this keeps getting worse and worse. Maybe Asgard can help us?
Well, she’s either the friendliest or the least friendly Asgardian I’ve ever seen!
Speaking of slippery Asgardians, there’s a master of mischief around here somewhere…
Wait, he casts Spells for free? That must be a lie!
Well, there you have it, your first look at the Mystic Arts. Come back next time to see some more magic – and some true artists!
Let the magic begin when Vs. System 2PCG: Mystic Arts arrive March 31.
